What is Cockpyt AI?

Logo Cockpyt AI

Cockpyt AI is a French platform that measures your brand’s presence in AI-generated answers, starting with ChatGPT. When a user asks an AI “what’s the best solution for X,” the AI recommends brands. If yours doesn’t appear, you’re invisible to that user, even if you rank well on Google. Cockpyt AI lights up that blind spot.

The tool was born from a field observation. On SEO engagements, one question kept coming back with no reliable answer: “Are we showing up in ChatGPT?” Existing tools were content with simulating prompts or scraping interfaces, with no robust method behind them. There was no equivalent of a Search Console for LLMs. Cockpyt AI was built from the start to close that gap, as a native GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) tool, not an “AI” tab bolted onto a classic SEO tool.

SEO optimizes your site for Google’s results. GEO optimizes your content to be cited by generative AI. Both are complementary but follow different rules: where SEO targets a results page, GEO targets the sentences the AI produces directly.

What does Cockpyt AI measure?

Cockpyt AI turns AI answers, by nature shifting, into readable indicators. Four measures structure the dashboard.

The Cockpyt Score (out of 100) sums up your performance in a single figure. It combines three dimensions: your presence (are you cited?), your position (what rank in the list of brands?) and contact (is your URL or phone visible?). It’s the indicator you present to leadership: a clear progression rather than fifteen scattered metrics.

The Visibility Score measures your absolute presence: how many times you’re cited across all tests. Share of Voice (SOV) measures your relative share: the proportion of mentions you capture against competitors. The first shows whether you exist, the second whether you dominate.

Prompt coverage is the finest indicator. When a user asks a question, the AI doesn’t only search those exact words: it rephrases into dozens of sub-queries, the fan-out. Coverage measures the proportion of those rephrasals on which your brand appears. A brand cited on the literal question but absent from the fan-out has fragile visibility; a brand present across most rephrasals has robust visibility.

Indicator What it measures The question it answers
Cockpyt Score /100 Presence + position + contact What’s my overall performance?
Visibility Score Mentions / number of tests Do I exist in the answers?
Share of Voice Share of mentions vs competitors Do I dominate my market?
Prompt coverage Presence across rephrasals (fan-out) Does my visibility resist variations?

How does Cockpyt AI work? The Deep Scan in 5 steps

The technical core of Cockpyt AI is called the Deep Scan. Its logic answers a precise problem: LLMs are non-deterministic. The same question can produce different answers from one call to the next. Sending a prompt once and taking the answer as truth would give a misleading measure.

To work around this randomness, Cockpyt AI runs 7 behavioral tests per prompt, varying the model’s temperature and seed parameters to explore its natural variability. Each scan chains five steps.

1. Onboarding prompt generation

From your brand information (activity, sector, geographic area for a local business), the tool automatically generates the prompts to track, tailored to your business.

2. Variant generation

Each prompt is declined into several formulations, to test different ways a real user might ask their question.

3. Running the 7 tests with active web search

Prompts are submitted to ChatGPT via the official API, with web search enabled. The seven runs vary parameters to capture the dispersion of answers.

4. Analysis of each answer

For each test, the tool records whether your brand is mentioned, at what position, whether your URL is cited, the associated sentiment and the competitors present.

5. Score calculation

Results are aggregated into statistically robust indicators: Cockpyt Score, Visibility Score, Share of Voice and coverage. The fan-out queries, those sub-queries triggered in the background, are extracted from the API call metadata and visible in each prompt’s detail.

This multi-test method explains why your Cockpyt Score can differ from what you see when typing the same question once in ChatGPT: a single test doesn’t reflect the reality of a non-deterministic environment. Byothe puts it this way: the tool runs seven behavioral tests per prompt to produce reliable indicators (Byothe, May 2026).

The GA4 connection: linking AI visibility and real traffic

The connection to Google Analytics 4 is Cockpyt AI’s main differentiator. Most GEO tools stop at measuring mentions. Cockpyt AI links those mentions to the traffic actually generated on your site by chatbots.

The point is to move beyond a pure awareness metric. Knowing your brand is cited is useful; knowing how many visits that citation produces, and how that traffic behaves, brings the measurement back into business reality. It’s the GEO equivalent of the rankings/analytics cross-reference marketing leads have practiced on Google for a decade.

The stakes are measurable. A documented French e-commerce case shows a brand tripled its AI-attributed sales after targeted work on its English version, with an AI traffic conversion rate higher than classic organic (anonymized case, La Revue Tech, 2026). The opportunity exists, it’s measurable, and still little contested.

How to get started with Cockpyt AI?

Setup takes a few minutes. The journey is designed so a first scan delivers results without technical configuration.

1. Create your account

Sign-up requires no credit card. You enter your brand, your activity and, for a local business, your geographic area.

2. Let the tool generate your prompts

From this information, Cockpyt AI automatically suggests a first set of prompts tailored to your sector. You can adjust them.

3. Run your first Deep Scan

The tool runs the 7 tests per prompt and aggregates your first scores. You discover your Cockpyt Score, your coverage and the competitors occupying the space.

4. Connect GA4 and track progress

By linking Google Analytics 4, you cross-reference your AI visibility with your real traffic. Weekly scans then show progress, week after week.

5. Apply the GEO recommendations

If your score is low, the tool generates a list of prioritized recommendations: concrete actions to implement to gain visibility.

Who is Cockpyt AI for, and what are its limits?

Cockpyt AI targets three profiles: marketing departments wanting to steer their visibility in the new answer engines, SEO agencies expanding their offer toward GEO, and freelancers and small businesses needing a dedicated, accessible tool. The platform is French, hosted in the European Union, and GDPR-compliant.

Now the limits, because transparency beats a sales pitch. The tool is in beta: today it covers ChatGPT, with the other engines (Perplexity, Gemini, Claude) targeted for upcoming versions. The single beta price is €29/month for 10 prompts, and the full pricing grid isn’t finalized yet. For a large brand managing thousands of prompts across many engines today, a more mature enterprise tool remains better suited. For a small business, freelancer or agency wanting to get ahead on GEO in French, it’s an accessible and honest entry point.

And a reminder that holds for any tool, including mine: measuring doesn’t make you visible. Cockpyt AI tells you where you stand and what to fix, but it’s your content and authority strategy that actually makes your brand appear in the answers.

FAQ: understanding Cockpyt AI

Does Cockpyt AI cover ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini?

In beta, the tool currently covers ChatGPT. Perplexity, Gemini and Claude are targeted for upcoming versions. The multi-test method is designed from the start to extend to several models.

Why does my Cockpyt Score differ from a manual test in ChatGPT?

Because LLMs are non-deterministic: the same question gives variable answers. Cockpyt AI tests each prompt 7 times, varying the model’s parameters, then averages the results. A single manual test doesn’t capture this variability.

What is the Deep Scan?

It’s Cockpyt AI’s analysis engine. It runs 7 behavioral tests per prompt via ChatGPT’s API with active web search, then aggregates the results into robust indicators. It chains prompt generation, variants, execution, analysis and scoring.

What is prompt coverage?

It’s the proportion of rephrasals (fan-out) on which your brand appears. High coverage means you’re cited regardless of how the user phrases their question, not only on one exact formulation.

How much does Cockpyt AI cost?

Beta access is €29/month for 10 prompts, no credit card. The full pricing grid isn’t finalized yet, as the tool is in beta.

Does Cockpyt AI use scraping or the API?

The API. Analyses query the model directly via the official API with web search, rather than scraping the interface. Note: an API answer can differ from the exact display in the ChatGPT app, a limit common to this approach.

Do I need a GEO tool if I already do SEO?

Yes, because they’re two distinct visibilities. A page ranking well on Google can be absent from ChatGPT’s answers. A GEO tool measures this presence your SEO tool can’t see.
